GENEVA , IL (Sept. 9, 2004)- Merlin's Franchising, Inc., parent company of the Geneva based Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops, announced today that beginning next week Merlin shops will be offering a Lifetime Warranty on tires.
Merlin is the first auto service provider to offer such a warranty. "We know that giving a lifetime warranty on tires is unheard of in the tire business, but it's long overdue," said Frank Smola, Merlin president. "For years all of the major players in the business have been offering customers a lifetime warranty on mufflers. So why not tires too? Just like mufflers, tires wear out and we believe that our customers deserve the same assurance of warranty protection with tires."
Merlin's new warranty not only covers defects in workmanship or materials but also normal wear out and failure due to road hazards. The customer is required to follow a regular maintenance schedule including tire rotations, wheel balancing and related services in order to maintain vehicle safety and ensure longer tire life.
"It's a matter of finding a better way to serve Merlin customers. Providing the best tire warranty available keeps us on our mission," says Smola.
This new Lifetime Tire Warranty adds to Merlin's already impressive line-up of warranty coverage. In 2000, to commemorate its 25th Anniversary, Merlin began offering an exclusive 25 Year Transferable Warranty on mufflers and brakes. That warranty allows vehicle owners to transfer their Merlin warranty coverage to the vehicle's next owner.
