Why did we change our name to Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops?

- Very simply, it better speaks to the business we are in: making cars, vans, and trucks last longer.
- We've expanded our service menu to help our customers get the full life out of their vehicles.
- It addresses one of the fastest growing groups of car, van, SUV, and light truck owners - those folks who have decided to drive their vehicles beyond 150,000 miles.
- The name "200,000 Mile Shops" makes a statement about the high quality of the services we offer. These services are not just 24,000 mile services; they are 200,000 mile services as well.
- The 200,000 Mile Shop name doesn't "pigeon hole" us. Our former name "Merlin Muffler & Brake" left many with the impression that we did only those services --- but we do so much more!
- It's unique. Not like the boring "run of mill" descriptors that many of our competitors use.
- Lastly, it might beg a question - and that question is, "What's a 200,000 mile shop"? - and we'd like the opportunity to tell you.

What's a Merlin 200,000 Mile Shop?

- 200,000 Mile Shops help motorists achieve the full life of their vehicles. 200,000 Mile Shops can be simply described as AUTOMOTIVE LONGEVITY SPECIALISTS.
- We provide all of the maintenance and repair services necessary for the average vehicle to go farther. Our proprietary maintenance program known as THE DRIVE FOR 200,000 not only covers vehicles thru the manufacturer's warranty period, but to 200,000 miles and beyond.

What is the 200,000 mile proposition? - It's no longer a secret...

Most of us in the auto repair business know that the vast majority of cars, vans and light trucks are designed to last much longer than the traditional 100,000 mile mark (look at the seven digit odometers that have been in such vehicles since the early 80's). A growing number of car owners understand this as well. In turn, more and more of the driving public are keeping their cars longer.
The importance of proper driving habits and regular maintenance is not a secret. A case in point is that a large number of Merlin customers (over 10%) have over 150,000 miles on their vehicles and continue to get dependable use. Many even have more than 200,000 miles.
So... What our name is saying to our customer is, "200,000 miles - Why not you?" Many are already doing it.
And to help the customer get there, we're offering "long-term car care." Our proprietary program, THE DRIVE FOR 200,000, is designed to assist in his/her quest of delaying the next round of car payments by helping to facilitate automotive life beyond 200,000 miles (or as long as they wish to drive the vehicle).
However, it is important to note that since vehicle longevity depends also on road conditions, driving habits, and other factors outside of our control, we ARE NOT guaranteeing a specific mileage life. |

O.K. What if I don't want to keep my vehicle to 200,000 miles?

We know that not everyone will want to keep his or her vehicle that long. But if you want an extra 12 months, 20,000 miles, or otherwise want to put off new round of car payments, our program is right for you, too.

What's THE "DRIVE FOR 200,000"?

|
THE DRIVE FOR 200,000 is Merlin's comprehensive program of regular inspections, scheduled maintenance, and pre-emptive replacement that facilitates longer vehicle life and extends to 200,000 miles and beyond. Nobody else in the car service business has anything as encompassing or economical.
THE DRIVE is unlike the high-ticket scheduled maintenance programs offered by some car dealers and other competitors. It is specifically designed to help you achieve your mileage goal and give you dependable vehicle use while saving you money in both the short-term and long-term.
You can go much farther. Drive sensibly, avoid poorly maintained roads, and let us be your partner. If keeping your vehicle safe and reliable ---- while saving money ---- is a priority for you and your family . . . visit your local Merlin 200,000 Mile Shop and let us show you how we can help you enjoy the freedom of the road - and distance yourself away from car payments.
