“Quirky” STITCH N’ PITCH event promotes knitting, crocheting, and stitching at Major and Minor League baseball games!

Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops and Stitch N’ Pitch are helping raise awareness and donations for Children’s Home + Aid and the thousands of children and families they serve annually.

Stitch N’ Pitch is batting up for its’ sixth year as one of the most successful needlearts consumer events in the country. The National Needlearts Association (TNNA) has partnered with Major League and Minor League Baseball to host people who love to knit, crochet, cross-stitch, embroider, needlepoint, spin and weave. These promotional events attract thousands of “Stitch N’ Pitch fans” every year who sit together in a large group and work on their needlearts projects during a special designated game.

In addition to promoting the baseball game ticket sales in their shops, Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops have stepped up to the plate to help raise additional donations for Children’s Home + Aid through two separate initiatives as follows:

1. VISIT THE STITCH N’ PITCH WALL at www.merlins.com
   By June 1, 2012, visit Merlin’s “virtual” Stitch & Pitch Wall at www.merlins.com where you can choose between three logos, and for a minimum $1 donation have it placed on the virtual wall. All donations made on the virtual wall will directly benefit Children’s Home + Aid.
   
   
2. HAVE YOU CAR SERVICED On Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at any Chicagoland Merlin 200,000 Miles Shop, and 5% of sales will be donated to Children’s Home + Aid to segment the donations made on the virtual wall.
   
   

So, mark the date on your calendar! Local stitchers and baseball fans, guilds and groups will come by car, bus and train to be a part of this needlearts tradition - Stitch N’ Pitch – the perfect double play!

TICKETS: $35 per ticket. Tickets are discounted, and proceeds from every ticket will support Children’s Home + Aid, and the TNNA’s NeedleArts Mentoring Program!
