 Special Merlin Programs

 

You Can Go Farther……….

Employees usually want more than just good wages and fringe benefits from their employment.  They also want to work for an organization that respects them as individuals and who offers opportunities for real advancement and security.  In addition to the aggressive compensation (including employee benefits), Merlin has developed several programs to assist employees in achieving their goals.  Below is a brief summary of some of these programs.  For more details regarding these programs and/or current  employment opportunities simply complete and submit the electronic application.    

REAP (Real Estate Assistance Program)
Do you want to own your own home – or perhaps buy a bigger house? With Merlin’s Real Estate Assistance Program (REAP) Merlin employees can make homeownership a reality. This unique program provides qualifying Merlin employees with $7,000 toward the purchase of their own primary residence.
 
Do you have prior industry experience? If so, you may have just found a faster way to shop ownership. With Merlin you can turn your previous experience into dollars. Based on length of service with a competitor, Merlin employees (and franchisee candidates) can earn up to $15,000 toward the acquisition of a Merlin shop.
 
EDP (Entrepreneur Development Program)
If you want more than just a paycheck and have a desire of owning your own business, Merlin is the place you want to be. Merlin rewards loyalty and performance!  Through the Entrepreneur Development Program (EDP), qualifying Merlin employees are awarded up to $10,000 toward the purchase of their own Merlin 200,000 MILES SHOP.
 
TLP (Two Language Program)
If you possess substantial proficiency in at least one other language (in addition to English) then shop ownership may be in your future. Merlin awards qualified multi-linguistic employees (and franchisee candidates) $10,000 toward the acquisition of their own Merlin 200,000 MILES SHOP.  
 
CDP (Career Development Program)
If you’re interesting in attending college, trade school or another educational institution but some of the realitie$ of life have stood in your way, Merlin’s Career Development Program (CDP) could be your ticket to higher education. With CDP, qualifying Merlin employees are awarded $8,000 toward tuition or other educational expenses.   This award can be used to pursue any accredited education and is not limited to automotive related fields.
 
Inner Circle Program
How about a big screen TV, golf clubs, or a backyard grill?   Many Merlin’s employees are earning these and other great rewards. Merlin offers an ongoing employee incentive and retention program that awards shop team members with significant merchandise for reaching various sales and quality goals on a monthly basis.  
 
These are just some of the programs and opportunities that currently exist for Merlin employees and/or franchisee candidates. We’d like to tell you more.

 Technician Trainee

 
Entry level "service bay" position for those who have little or no experience, but are serious about learning the trade and working for Merlin. All aspects of shop operations including shop maintenance, customer service, and technical repair of customer vehicles will be taught to the Trainee. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a high energy level along with the ability to work hard and learn fast.

 Associate Technician

 
Mid-level service production position which involves customer service, inspecting and repairing vehicles, and shop maintenance. Must be proficient in the operation and maintenance of all shop equipment and have at least one undercar specialty. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must possess high energy level and good customer relations skills.

Master Technician
 
Senior level service production position. Plays a key role in the customer service and sales process. Extremely knowledgeable in the use of all equipment including specialized exhaust and brake equipment. Involved in employee training, inventory management/handling and housekeeping. Minimum 2 years automotive service experience with A.S.E. certification in brakes, steering and suspension.

Service Manager
 
First level of shop management. Assists the General Manager in running the service desk on an as needed basis. Supervises the service bays, housekeeping, and inventory management. Coordinates “on the job” training. Is proficient in retail selling and customer service along with knowledge of catalogs and computers, maintenance/operation of all shop equipment. Must possess the ability to motivate employees. High school diploma or equivalent required, as well as A.S.E. certifications in brakes, suspension and steering.

Acts as General Manager in the absence of General Manager and as an assistant to the General Manager when both are on duty. Responsible for the day-to-day on site operation of all aspects of the shop including execution of Merlin policy and procedure while maintaining a professional image and profitable operation. Duties include customer service, facility image and upkeep, employee motivation, inventory/cash control and record keeping. Must possess a high energy level, clerical skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must successfully complete the Merlin Management Training Course.
